Overall Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and innovative
Mechanical Designer,
to join our engineering team. In this role, you will transform concepts and specifications into accurate models, drawings, and technical documentation that supports product development and manufacturing. The ideal candidate combines strong drafting experience with mechanical design knowledge, ensuring designs are precise, manufacturable, and compliant with company standards. This position is critical in bridging the gap between engineering vision and production execution.
Location:
Hybrid in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania strongly desired. Remote will be considered.
Responsibilities Prepare and/or modify mechanical layouts, CAD models, assembly drawings, and detailed part drawings using CAD tools such as SolidWorks both in 2D and 3D environments
Develop and maintain detailed mechanical drawings for components, assemblies and systems, ensuring compliance with all standards and specifications.
Conduct preliminary GD&T stackups and analysis for components and assemblies to ensure proper assembly & manufacturing
Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing to ensure optimal design for manufacturability and assembly
Collaborate cross-functional teams to generate and manage project-specific BOMs (Bill of Materials) in support of a robust NPI process
Understand, use, and contribute to establishing company guidelines, best practices, and standards for design
Own and manage the internal lessons learned design database, ensuring accuracy with input from other Engineers
Support the generation of drawings for RFIs and RFPs with customers and business partners
Review and analyze documents: identifying drawing and specification conflicts, insufficient information, and missing dimensions while contributing ideas to enhance efficiency
Work independently with minimal guidance when necessary
Additional responsibilities may be assigned
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in engineering technology, computer aided design, or similar required. In lieu of a degree, a commensurate combination of education and experience will be considered.
Three (3+) or more years of experience in manufacturing assembly required. Extremely proficient in CAD (2D & 3D). Catia, UG, other: Eos uses Solidworks
US Industry Standards (i.e. - ANSI, IEEE, NEMA, NEC, UL)
Experience in design and launch of production parts and complex assemblies
Experience with complex electrical or mechanical systems or automotive designs
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Office Environment - Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time and occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading. May be required to exert up to 25 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
