How You Lead

The Artist Royalty Manager will be responsible for maintaining royalty processes pertaining to Artist, Producer and other sound recording participant accountings. This is a key role to help ensure that royalties are accurately reported to artists and third parties in accordance with applicable contracts and licenses. This position provides exposure to all aspects of artist royalty reporting and interaction with key players in the business space. The right candidate will have a passion for music and be hungry to learn and grow in the business of music.

How You’ll Create

  • Analyze artist contracts for royalty obligations and prepare contract brief summaries
  • Enter royalty terms related to artists, producers or third parties into the system; create new accounts, add related royalty rates, link new products and run reports
  • Ensure all artist royalty contract entries are compliant with internal controls
  • Responsible for expense and recoupment analysis as it relates to royalty accounts
  • Make necessary system corrections or royalty adjustments
  • Manage period-end tasks and payout reports
  • Manage vendor setups and royalty payments
  • Serve as a point of contact for artist royalty clients
  • Coordinate and complete special projects as assigned

Bring Your Vibe

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role at a recorded music company
  • Four-year college degree in Business, Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experience
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting artist contracts and artist statements
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Detail oriented, a good decision maker and have a positive attitude
  • Self-motivated; ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of royalty accounting systems
