Hotel Audio Visual Event Technician Job at Markey's in Louisville

Overview

Markey's, a multi-state leading provider of creative audio-visual services, is seeking Part-Time Hotel Event Technicians to join our team in Louisville, KY. The Hotel Technician is a client-facing role responsible for setting up and operating high-end audio-visual equipment for live/virtual/hybrid client meetings at the Louisville Marriott Downtown and Hotel Distil. This role involves troubleshooting issues and tearing down equipment post-event. Shifts and hours vary with business needs, and some weekend work is required. This is a PRN (part-time as needed), hourly, non-exempt role eligible for overtime.

Responsibilities

1. Work closely with clients and the in-house Operations team to ensure successful event completion.
2. Set up, tear down, and occasional loading/unloading of equipment.
3. Operate all types of audio, visual, and lighting equipment for live and virtual events.
4. Provide excellent customer service to hotel staff and clients, promptly handling equipment changes/requests.
5. Ensure equipment is functional, safely and professionally presented, and that clients are familiar with the operation of any equipment used.
6. Troubleshoot equipment issues with satisfactory resolution.

Requirements

• Good working knowledge of all types of audio-visual equipment, including operation, setup, troubleshooting, and explanation of equipment.
• Ability to work in a collaborative team environment or independently and follow directions from supervisor.
• Excellent customer service skills with a positive and professional appearance and attitude at all times.
• High level of attention to detail, excellent time management, and ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities.

• Physical demands include frequent bending, pushing/pulling gear, and lifting up to 70 lbs.
