JOB SUMMARY
Setup and operate television cameras on a daily basis for Fair Ground’s live and taped simulcast production. In addition to camera operation, this position will assist in changing televisions displays on the Fair Grounds property.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate television camera equipment in both studio and ENG configurations.
- Understand what is needed to work in a live television environment.
- Climb 50 foot towers multiple times during a shift.
- Maintain consistency of established look of the production.
- Execute commands of the Technical Director of the production.
- Communicate technical or facility issues to your manager and/or Director.
- Follow established safety guidelines for tower and roof locations.
- Secure camera location and equipment following live production.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must be 21 years or older. Must be able to obtain a Racing License from the Louisiana Racing Commission.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Strong communication skills. High level of professionalism with the ability to perform in a fast-paced work environment. Work to be completed as directed in timely manner and with efficiency. Applicants are encouraged to have previous experience in live television production, and should be familiar with various aspects of television production. Ability to read, analyze and interpret common documentation.

Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Equipment used regularly includes computer, telephone and copier. Office/Casino environment; Subject to outdoor temperature; Exposed to smoke, bright lights and noise at times. The work environment consists of very non-demanding surroundings with a low noise level. Will occasional work in extreme heat or cold conditions.
