DOOR International is a global Christian nonprofit who aims to see Jesus transform every Deaf person and community through a relationship with Him. Our mission is to grow and equip Deaf leaders worldwide in evangelism, discipleship, sign language Bible translation, and scripture engagement. We are seeking an experienced Content Production Lead to join our team dedicated to developing and delivering high-quality learning resources that support the CEDAR program’s mission to train consultants and support sign language Bible translation. This role leads the Office of Resource Development and ensures that all resources are accurate, Biblically sound, visually engaging, and culturally appropriate for global Deaf audiences. This individual supervises staff, coordinates cross-office collaboration, manages timelines and budget priorities, and fosters a spiritually grounded, mission-aligned team culture. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership skills, professional experience in signed language translation and content creation, and a deep commitment to global Deaf ministry.

Responsibilities

Develop, Create, and Innovate

  • Modular and stand-alone sign language video resources to support hybrid and asynchronous training for diverse global Deaf audiences.
  • Guided translation activities (e.g., Chronological Bible Translation (CBT) passage work) for Consultants-in-Training (CiTs), especially those in under-resourced contexts.
  • Processes for scripting, filming, and post-production review to increase quality, accessibility, and efficiency.
  • Bible-related and/or translation-related resources for a diverse and global Deaf audience in signed language that reflect Deaf-centric pedagogy, biblical accuracy, and accessible design principles.
  • Visually engaging signed content, including translation passages, guided training materials, and content illustrations that support learner comprehension.
  • Visual storytelling approaches that enhance pacing, clarity, and audience engagement in diverse Deaf contexts.

Manage

  • Translation Content Specialists and Post-Production Specialist(s), providing clear expectations, ongoing feedback, and support for professional and spiritual growth.
  • Daily operations within the Office of Resource Development to ensure steady progress on deliverables and healthy team collaboration.
  • The planning and execution of high-quality visual and multimedia resources that support CEDAR’s training goals.
  • The team workflows, production timelines, and resource development systems to ensure clarity, consistency, and completion of assigned projects.

Support

  • The personal and professional development of team members through mentoring, check-ins, and feedback loops.
  • The creation of Video Resource products directly to drafting, scripting, signing, or reviewing visual content that reflects Deaf-centric pedagogy and biblical accuracy.
  • The Associate Program Director on budgetary needs, resourcing priorities, and team capacity.
  • Through sharing stories, testimonies, and lessons learned from pilot tests and implementation to inform the broader CEDAR and DOOR teams.

Coordinate or Facilitate

  • The Office of Curriculum Development and Subject Matter Experts to align content and ensure theological and academic accuracy.
  • Communication between the Resource Team and other CEDAR offices to streamline collaboration and reduce production bottlenecks.
  • With global partners and internal stakeholders to share resource usage stories, gather feedback, and identify future development needs.

Act or Carry out

  • Carry out team planning meetings, feedback sessions, and documentation of progress and milestones.
  • Tasks related to filming, video editing support, and documentation in alignment with CEDAR project timelines and quality standards.
  • Pilot testing and user feedback cycles to refine and improve resource accessibility and effectiveness.
  • The maintenance and organized documentation of drafts, revisions, and production iterations for internal reference and process improvement.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred in Sign Language Translation, Deaf Education, Biblical Studies, Linguistics, or a related field. Equivalent professional experience will be considered.
  • Demonstrated minimum of 1-3 years experience in sign language translation, signed language content production, or curriculum/resource development required.
  • Demonstrated minimum of 1-3 years experience in a supervisory or team management role required.
  • Experience working in cross-cultural and multilingual environments, particularly within Deaf communities preferred.

Skills and qualifications

  • Being a native American Sign Language (ASL) user with strong written English communication skills
  • Ability to learn and adapt to different communications styles across multilingual and multimodal contexts, including the use of International Sign.
  • Demonstrates strong skill in sign language translation.
  • Demonstrates strong on-camera presence and the ability to sign clearly and professionally for visual resource production, ensuring accessibility and audience engagement.
  • Demonstrates the ability to innovate with language.
  • Strong interpersonal and team leadership skills with the ability to build trust, resolve conflict, and cultivate collaboration.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and team needs simultaneously.
  • Skilled in giving and receiving feedback in iterative creative processes.
  • Technologically proficient in video production workflows and collaborative tools used for content development.
  • Active passport and ability to travel nationally and internationally up to three weeks per year (approx. 6% per year).
  • Demonstrates spiritual maturity, a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and dedication to a Christian body of believers. Alignment with DOOR International’s Statement of Faith is required.
