Position
Design Assistant – Northern Kentucky
Responsibilities
- Maintain a welcoming environment by greeting customers, answering calls and keeping refreshments stocked.
- Assist with Saturday browse events for prospective buyers by facilitating a friendly atmosphere, conducting general information tours, and answering questions about features and design options.
- Keep the Design Center and online store up-to-date by organizing new products and removing dated ones. Ensure model numbers, handout documents, and displays are accurate.
- Assist with customer selections when needed.
- Schedule Design Center appointments and send out confirmation emails.
- Communicate and coordinate with builders, estimators, and sales personnel.
- Maintain Design Center reports with up-to-date information.
- Prepare and process job files for daily appointments.
- Assist with other coordinating needs to help buyers stay on track (e.g., low voltage appointments and documents).
- Work with Bluebeam to support daily designer needs (redlining plans, backsplash drawings, cabinet revisions, etc.).
- Keep the Design Center stocked with office supplies as needed.
- Take pictures of products and design features in the field for the Design Center photo log, as needed.
- Complete selections for Pure Style, Townhomes, and Market Homes as needed.
- Learn the functions of the Design Consultant role to assist with overflow appointments or high-volume sales.
- Continually strive to improve customer service.
- Perform any new duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills
- Superior customer service skills.
- Experience in an Art or Design related field.
- Experience with Envision is a plus.
- Interest in interior design and a desire to learn.
- Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, and/or Illustrator) is a plus.
- Drafting and rendering software skills (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.) are helpful.
- Organized with strong attention to detail.
Requirements
- High school diploma required; bachelor’s or associate degree in a design-related field preferred.
- Excellent communication skills with strong customer focus.
- Good computer skills including basic Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Friendly, outgoing personality with patience with customers.
