SALARY: $70,000- $80,000/annum

SUMMARY:

This role works closely with members of the Digital and Communications team as well as staff across Asia Society’s global operations. This role manages all video production related to the organization’s New York programming and global initiatives and manages an onsite studio used for interviews, assisting staff and experts in its use as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Edit video footage from Asia Society’s New York events and produce promotional and creative videos related to Asia Society programming and initiatives, which cover a wide variety of subject matter: visual and performing art, policy, current affairs, education, and more. Coordinate with internal AV staff as needed.
  • Oversee the branding and archiving of all Asia Society videos, ensuring consistency in quality and style. Manage and maintain Asia Society’s video archives.
  • Ensure that Asia Society videos are posted promptly and accurately on AsiaSociety.org and our YouTube channel, and that our videos follow quality and branding guidelines.
  • Create and implement best practices guidelines for video for the global Asia Society network. Liaise with staff from all Asia Society centers and departments regarding their video needs and output.
  • Remotely manage and coordinate workflow with a Manila-based video editor.
  • Collaborate with social media team as needed to create and optimize video clips across platforms (YouTube, Instagram, etc.) and help monitor video performance. Handle occasional live streaming of events on YouTube and other social media platforms.
  • Oversee video equipment and budget, and ensure our gear and recording studio meet the organization’s needs.
  • Serve as quality control and technical advisor to Asia Society’s global podcasts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience

  • Three to four years related experience ideating, filming, editing, and producing video.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced online environment preferred.
  • Experience producing promotional, event, documentary and narrative style videos.
  • Experience capturing and lighting high-quality video in the studio and field.
  • A track record of distributing video to an online audience.
  • Familiarity with analytics and other performance metrics.
  • Enthusiasm about Asia and what we do. Background in Asian studies or proficiency in an Asian language a plus.

Skills and Competencies

  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Premiere, Photoshop, After Effects, and Illustrator. Proficiency in Final Cut Pro a plus.
  • Excellent editorial judgement and the ability to pitch creative and executable ideas.
  • Confidence in making quick editorial decisions and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once, and hit deadlines.
  • A proven self-motivated, self-sufficient, self-starter. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with a wide variety of people.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with content management systems (Drupal, WordPress, etc.).
  • Strong writing and editing skills a plus.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

Salary Range: $70,000- $80,000
