Role and Responsibilities
The Graphic Designer will collaborate closely with the Marketing team and participate in the planning and execution of the visual component of marketing efforts, promoting and strengthening the Citarella gourmet brand and sub-brands in adherence to the brand positioning while managing priorities and deadlines. This role will assist in the design and production of visual and audio materials and media used for print (package design, store signage, etc.), digital media, and web communications. The Graphic Designer must be able to work closely with the Marketing Manager and Director of Marketing to translate our brand into visually stimulating and engaging designs that showcase delicious food, amazing people and unique processes. This role would support various departments across the organization with a wide range of design initiatives and play a pivotal part in the evolution of the Citarella brand in and out of the store.
- Create visual designs that effectively communicate Citarella's brand identity, including the design and production of all creative channels.
- Understand the Citarella Brand Style Guide/book including new or updated guidelines required for the brand or sub brands.
- Build mockups and renderings to maintain the Citarella brand in adherence to the brand parameters in-store, on-line and all communication pieces.
- Design, develop and execute graphic collateral and creative assets cross functional partners.
- Use Adobe XD to create prototypes for monthly website updates and/or new design implementations discussed by management.
- Be able to version templates as needed production, for example packaging. Always making sure that you have checked everything that is given by management in terms of final production.
- Work with a wide range of media, including Digital Ads, Social Media posts, Website graphics, Email and SMS designs, Photography, and Package Design, (Private Label).
- Create HR training and other adhoc presentations.
- Design the monthly HR newsletter for print and email.
- Be able to see design trends and offer recommendations of how this could translate to creative in all aspects of Marketing.
- Support private label packaging and labeling projects.
- Partner with Marketing and social counterparts to create content for our social channels that will help to grow our brand recognition and social following.
- Ad hoc projects/tasks as needed

Qualifications And Education Requirements
- Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design
- 1-3 years’ experience working in marketing
- Proficient skills in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Sketch / Adobe XD, Office 365.
- Ability to create renderings in Photoshop, and mockup package designs through print.
- Ability to work flexible schedule. Hours may include weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Kneeling, stooping, using stairs, may be required to lift weights of usually 5 – 30 pounds.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in the food industry is a plus
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must be a creative problem solver with a can-do attitude.
- Ability to travel to various Citarella locations.
- Ability to work in a team setting and help with the execution and production of projects (print and digital).
