The mission of Cove Baptist Music Ministry is to provide an opportunity for spiritual growth and inspiration through Christ-honoring music. The job of a Music Minister is a multifaceted role that combines musical leadership with spiritual guidance. Cove Baptist Church has a variety of ages in the church family that enjoy blended worship of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Responsibilities

• Musical Leadership: Select and arrange music for all church services, including Sunday worship services, special events, and seasonal celebrations. Lead congregational singing, choirs, and instrumental ensembles during services. Provide accompaniment on piano as needed. Conduct rehearsals as needed for the choir, praise team, or other musicians.
• Worship Planning: Collaborate with the pastor and other church leaders to plan worship services that align with the overall theme and message of the church. Coordinate with other ministries within the church to incorporate music into their programs and events. Stay informed about trends in Christian music and incorporate new songs and styles into worship services as appropriate.
• Leadership: Foster a supportive environment where individuals can grow in their musical and spiritual gifts.
• Administrative Tasks: Manage the music ministry budget, including expenses for music resources, equipment, and special events. Coordinate the scheduling of rehearsals, performances, and special music events. Maintain music library and resources, ensuring they are up-to-date and easily accessible. Assure audio/visual equipment is operational prior to church services and special events.

Qualifications

• A personal commitment to Jesus Christ and a demonstrated Christian character.
• Experience with church music and leading worship.
• Ability to communicate and work collaboratively with church staff and volunteers.

Working Conditions

The Music Minister position typically involves weekend and evening work. Flexibility is required to accommodate special events and seasonal celebrations throughout the church calendar.
