Position Summary
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in music education, a passion for teaching. This role emphasizes cultivating musical skills, encouraging artistic expression, and preparing students for performance opportunities through engaging, skill-based instruction.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement engaging, goal-driven lessons that promote creativity and musical growth
- Regularly assess and document student progress; provide timely feedback through report cards and progress reports
- Foster a structured, positive learning environment by consistently applying MVRCS\'s assertive discipline model
- Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and department planning sessions
- Support and lead school-wide musical events, concerts, and performances
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Assistant Director
Qualifications
- Experience teaching music and/or conducting string ensembles
- Ability to adapt instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners across multiple grade levels
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Commitment to inspiring student engagement, creativity, and performance readiness
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to analyze student performance and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
- Collaborative mindset and a demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues
- Knowledge of state and federal education laws and school policies
Additional Information
This is a full-time position with a yearly contract, subject to annual performance evaluation.
