Music Teacher - Parramatta Marist High School, Westmead. Permanent, part-time position (days to be negotiated with the applicant). Commencing in Term 1, 2026.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality contemporary learning and teaching for the school community in Music, with explicit teaching within an inquiry framework and differentiated learning to cater for students' needs.
• Utilise a wide range of resources, including interactive technologies, to support teaching and learning; plan, implement and evaluate rigorous and inclusive learning programs; build effective relationships and manage complex interactions to create engaging, safe learning environments.
• Actively participate in collaborative professional learning and contribute to Professional Learning Teams (PLTs) and school initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills

• Contemporary and authoritative knowledge of Music education, assessment and reporting; ability to implement effective pedagogies and varied resources.
• Commitment to continual professional development and improvement of teaching practice.
• Ability to work creatively within school communities and set high, achievable goals for themselves and their students.

Organisation and Context

Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese provides quality learning and teaching in a faith-centred environment across 80 primary and secondary schools and related care services in Western Sydney. The position involves working with children; appointment is subject to satisfactory employment screening including a National Police Check and Working with Children Check, and compliance with CSPD Child Safeguarding Procedures and Code of Conduct When Working With Students and Children. CSPD promotes safety and wellbeing for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and children from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds.
