Job Title: Drafter/Designer Job Description
Join a dynamic team as a Design Engineer with a leading manufacturer of fabricated retail displays, fixtures, themed environments, and hospitality furnishings. This role involves collaboration with the Engineering team to complete fabrication and assembly drawings, offering an opportunity to work on a variety of projects in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities

Create 3D models utilizing Inventor.

Develop fabrication and assembly drawings for manufacturing personnel.

Generate BOMs (bill of materials) and update drawings from redlines or mark-ups.

Dissect product sketches/renderings into individual parts to create detailed drawings.

Update and modify pre-existing drawings.

Collaborate with production personnel to ensure accurate and correct assembly of products.
Essential Skills
-
Bachelors in Industrial Design or Mechanical Engineering.

2-3 years of experience in 3D modeling (Inventor preferred, but open to Solidworks, Fusion360).

Basic knowledge of cabinetry and/or millwork (framing) and metal work (sheet metal).

Experience designing retail displays, fixtures, and furniture.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as UL, ETL, NSF, Bifma.

Process improvement experience.

Photo rendering skills in 3dsMAX, Inventor Studio.

Programming experience with BI, Python, iLogic.
Work Environment
The role primarily involves working in an office setting alongside the engineering staff, with occasional visits to the plant floor during assembly to ensure product specifications are met. The Engineering team consists of six other engineers/designers, offering a collaborative and engaging work environment.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, Ohio.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $38.46/hr.
