Academic Tutor – Richmond Library/Community Center Homework Program
Organization: Bay Area Tutoring Association (BATA)
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Start Date: September 15, 2025
Academic Year: 2025–2026
About the Opportunity
The Bay Area Tutoring Association (BATA), in partnership with the Richmond Public Library and Community Centers, is seeking Education Tutors to support students in the Richmond Homework Program. This role is a rewarding chance to help local students with assignments, provide guidance, and foster confidence in their learning.
As an Education Tutor, you’ll work directly with students to explain challenging concepts, build study skills, and inspire a love for learning.

Library Sites
- Main Library – 325 Civic Center Plaza, Richmond, CA 94804
- Bay View Library – 5100 Hartnett, Richmond, CA 94804
- Westside Library – 135 Washington Ave., Richmond, CA 94801
Community Center Sites
- Nevin Community Center – 598 Nevin Avenue, Richmond, CA 94801
- May Valley Community Center – 3530 Morningside Dr., Richmond, CA 94803
- Shields-Reid Community Center – 1410 Kelsey St, Richmond, CA 94801

Requirements
- Passion for education and student success
- Effective communication skills and patience with students of varying ages and abilities
- Consistent attendance during scheduled shifts
- Completion of BATA onboarding, including:
- Background check
- Online training
- TB clearance
