Position Overview
The Marketing Coordinator position is a full-time non- exempt hourly position, reporting to the Marketing Director and Chief Marketing Officer. The position is responsible for supporting the Visit Temecula Valley Marketing team as it pertains to social media, curating content for comprehensive integrated marketing programs that target both leisure and business travelers utilizing advertising, digital, direct, experiential, and other forms of marketing. Position will work with staff along with our marketing and advertising agency teams to ensure projects are completed on time and by VTV’s strategic priorities and brand specifications.
As a member of the marketing team the position will participate in the development of VTV priorities and objectives, as well as assist in managing all Visit Temecula Valley Brand advertising, marketing strategies for attracting and increasing overnight business, promoting destination awareness and brand recognition.
Marketing and Social Media Responsibilities
Post to VTV social media accounts (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube, LinkedIn, and any other social channels).
Create Amplified stories for VTV website.
Curate User Generated Content from partners and consumers to post on website via CrowdRiff.
Manage all social media hashtags.
Manage all comments and any consumer questions via direct messages on social media accounts.
Create content for all social media accounts.
Track social media executions via Google, Sprout Social, and any other research resources available.
Post blogs according to annual schedule VTV Marketing Plan.
Collaborate on the development and implementation of all marketing promotions and campaigns.
Supply analytics for monthly and annual marketing updates and reports.
Support content of annual marketing plan.
Planning, Communication, and Relationships
Maintain knowledge of marketing projects time frame and status, providing updates to Director and CMO as needed.
Attend weekly in-house marketing meetings, weekly marketing agency meetings, and weekly staff meetings.
Track marketing department’s KPIs and report status on a monthly basis.
Manage inventory of all photo and video assets in the One Drive.
Support management of Digital Asset Management system by adding new creative and upkeep ongoing organization through tagging and categories.
Keep informed of all social media trends and changes and share information with the marketing team.
Have updated knowledge of social media benchmarks to measure VTV’s performance.
Provide support for all aspects of VTV marketing efforts.
Build and fostering relationships with VTV partners and industry professionals in Temecula’s travel and tourism industry. Develop and foster relationships with key third-party vendors such as Simpleview, CrowdRiff.
Develop and foster relationships with lodging partners, tourism leaders and organizations.
Support VTV team in all events, meetings, and tasks as needed.
Position Requirements
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years of marketing experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. (Hospitality industry preferred).
Exceptional interpersonal skills, including professionalism and integrity.
Excellent cross-functional collaboration, and relationship-building skills.
Experience in advertising and/or social media coordination is a plus.
Understanding of analytics and statistics.
Knowledge of local destination and the tourism industry.
Skills & Knowledge
Strong communication and presentation skills with ability to relate to members, clients, vendors, the public, agency, marketing team, and VTV staff.
Understanding web analytic tools (i.e., Google Analytics, Sprout Social).
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with deadlines and ability to adapt to changing environment.
Knowledge of the following software, sufficient for performing direct tasks as well as training others to use:
Content Management System or Customer Relationship Management System experience (CMS/CRM)
Adobe Photoshop and/or Canva (Creating templates, resizing images or website headers and event banners)
Sprout Social
User Generated Content Software (CrowdRiff)
Microsoft Office applications
Internet/Email access and utilization
Physical/Sensory/Cognitive Requirements to Perform Essential Job Functions
Ability to:
Sit at desk for 6-8 hours per day, if required.
Operate computer keyboard and view computer screen for 7-8 hours per day, if required.
Set-up and tear-down equipment, marketing materials, and signage.
Hear and converse via telephone and in person.
Bend and stretch to reach file drawers and cabinets.
May be required to lift boxes and small equipment up to 50 pounds in weight.
Drive to local businesses.
Some travel may be required.
