Polaris' Certifications Standards Excellence team is responsible for leading enterprise-wide programs to achieve and maintain compliance with global product regulations and brand quality standards. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for actively maintaining product certifications, including tracking and implementing new global product regulations and supporting product development and compliance systems in a diverse cross-functional team environment with hands-on exposure to Polaris products.

In this role, you will partner and provide support for wireless product certification to include evaluation for test readiness, manage test efforts and coordinate submissions and maintain RF type approvals for Polaris radio products.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Work with GBUs to ensure products sold by Polaris comply with radio certification requirements (RF/EMC/Safety) for domestic and international approvals. Audit technical conformity files to ensure all required documentation exists to support compliance requirements. Work directly with vendors to obtain all certification information and verify completeness and accuracy of the documentation provided. Work with external laboratories and certifying agencies to plan for required testing, obtain funding, and verify complete and accurate reporting/certificates are received. Engage with Vehicle Compliance Engineers to ensure all radio components are accounted for when evaluating radio compliance for gate reviews. Review labels and content of owner's manuals to verify all required markings and verbiage are appropriately planned for. Work with Purchasing and Engineering to specify components and features that will affect conformity assessments.

Skills, Knowledge & Education:

  • B.S. degree in Engineering, Environmental Studies, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of product regulatory experience; ideally in a closely related consumer products industry (i.e. automotive, powersports)
  • Significant exposure to and expertise with global regulations and standards
  • Solid understanding of WiFi, BT, and LoRa technologies and the rules that govern them
  • Knowledge of product compliance regulations from EPA, CARB, ANSI/SVIA, ANSI/ROHVA, ANSI/OPEI, UL, NHTSA, US Forest Service, Transport Canada, EU type approval, and other international requirements.
  • Advanced knowledge of engineering product compliance testing & validation processes; certification processes; product development process (PDP).
  • Demonstrated ability communicating with key stakeholders on complex, technical projects.
  • Multistage project management experience. PMP, CAPM or similar PM certificate preferred.
  • Self-starter who can apply engineering principles to regulatory requirements
  • Wireless expert / enthusiast
  • Ability to represent the company externally and collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented with ability to establish short and long-term plans

Working Conditions:

Hybrid working model (3 days in office/2 days WFH) based out of our Engineering HQ (Wyoming, MN). Onsite days determined by management and may vary based on business need. Potential for fully remote with travel to office based on candidate qualifications.

The starting pay range for Minnesota is $93,000 to $116,000 per year. Individual salaries and positioning within the range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. While individual pay could fall anywhere in the range based on these factors, it is not common to start at the high end or top of the range.
