The
Associate Technical Designer, Apparel
is responsible for all areas of technical design process. This position supports the Wholesale Apparel business.
The responsibilities described below are considered essential functions of the role. This position is based in our NYC office and requires working on-site five days per week.
Key Responsibilities Manage the technical design lifecycle, from initial development through pre-production approval Generate technical specification packages. Analyze and evaluate samples for spec, pattern and construction. Partner with Designers to understand and execute the design concept / fit intent, while ensuring that samples are optimized for bulk production Conduct fit evaluations on live models to analyze balance and fit. Provide recommendations for adjustments. Capture team feedback and process fit comments accordingly Clearly communicate all fit, quality, and construction corrections to overseas partners through written comments, photographs, diagrams, and pattern corrections. Proactively identify and resolve production, quality, and costing issues Track and manage workflow Manage daily correspondence with overseas factories Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines with support and resources as needed Perform other duties and special projects as assigned Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Minimum of 2+ years' experience as a Technical Designer preferred Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Illustrator Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills Extensive knowledge of garment construction and pattern making Superior written and verbal communication skills Ability to build and maintain relationships with cross functional partners Strong time management and multitasking skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Proactive, self-motivated, problem-solver with excellent attention to detail
FULL TIME POSITIONS : The expected base salary for this position ranges from $70k-$75k. Ranges are based on various factors such as relevant skillset, training, years of experience related to the current job description, education, and our organizational structure.
