Library Service Manager
Salary: $ 50,000.00/year
Position Summary
The Library Services Manager is responsible for managing day-to-day operations of the Hocking College Library within the Access & Learning Support Center. This role ensures access to library collections, supports student learning and information literacy, collaborates with faculty, and maintains compliance with Higher Learning Commission (HLC) standards. The position also contributes to course evaluation efforts within the School of General Studies and Education.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Manage daily library operations including circulation, collection maintenance, and patron services.
Coordinate and manage all operations related to OhioLINK membership, including fulfilling responsibilities outlined in consortial agreements, overseeing interlibrary loan services, and ensuring access to digital resources.
Administer and maintain the Alma Library Management System serving as the institutional lead for system configuration, updates, and troubleshooting.
Provide research support and reference assistance to students, faculty, and staff.
Deliver library orientation sessions that promote ethical research practices and responsible information use, including guidance on the appropriate use of artificial intelligence tools.
Deliver AI literacy workshops to promote critical awareness and responsible use of emerging technologies.
Support the College's adoption and use of Open Educational Resources (OERs), co-develop instructional content with faculty, and facilitate course reading lists into the library management system.
Collaborate with the Educational Specialist to integrate library support into tutoring and academic support programming.
Train and supervise student workers in library tasks, service desk operations, and customer service.
Maintain usage data, develop service reports, and contribute to accreditation and assessment documentation.
Provide administrative support for course evaluations in the School of General Studies and Education.
Support the integration of accessibility and inclusive practices in library services.
Participate in regular Access & Learning Support team meetings and student support planning.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required in Library Science, Education, English, Communications, or a related field.
Experience in academic library or student support services.
Familiarity with library systems, digital resources, and learning technologies.
Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
Ability to train, supervise, and mentor student workers.
Demonstrated experience in interpersonal communications with small to large groups.

Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS), Education, or related discipline.
Experience with OhioLINK and integrated library systems.
Experience providing instruction in research skills or information literacy.
Experience with OER curation or support.
Experience with Artificial Intelligence

Working Conditions
Primarily on-campus role with occasional evening or weekend duties.
Must be able to lift 25 lbs and maneuver carts and library materials.
