OPHTHALMIC PHOTOGRAPHER, FROEDTERT HOSPITAL EYE INSTITUTE role at Froedtert Health. Location: Milwaukee, WI (on-site at Froedtert Hospital facility). FTE: 1.000000. Standard Hours: 40. Shift: 1st. Travel to satellite clinic (Westbrook Health Center) may be required.

Job Summary

The ophthalmic photographer assists ophthalmologists in the performance of eye examinations by using a variety of photographic equipment. Responsibilities include anterior and posterior segment clinical ophthalmic imaging, participation in research, preparing patients for imaging, and troubleshooting equipment. Testing may include OCT, fundus photography, fluorescein and ICG angiography, slit lamp biomicroscopy, and ultrasonography. Other duties as assigned.

Experience

  • Knowledge of cameras and photographic techniques and processes.
  • Knowledge of medical and ophthalmologic terminology.
  • A minimum of 2 years of general medical photography or 1 year of ophthalmic photography is preferred.

Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.

Licensure

  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
  • Current CRA or OCT-C or working towards certification is preferred.

Special Skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Advanced proficiency in Word and Excel. Experience with reporting and analytics preferred. Demonstrates an understanding of DEA regulations and controlled substance ordering requirements.
