Overview
Marketing Manager - Mainstreet Growth Marketing Strategy Lead (Hybrid). We’re looking for an experienced Marketing Strategist to drive forward our growth marketing strategies, oversee our marketing agenda, and serve as the primary Marketing Strategist for one of our programs across owned channels (email, in-app, SMS, site). The right candidate will have experience leading agendas through others and driving forward marketing strategies in white-space areas that leverage new MarTech capabilities. They will need to work with multiple cross-functional teams, building relationships across the organization and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities
Defines the destination messaging and user journey strategy across outbound marketing programs in a collaborative cross-functional team (business partners, creative teams, product, tech, legal, compliance, etc.), providing strategic and tactical thought partnership to evolve the way we acquire customers. Oversees, removes barriers, and provides thought leadership for the day-to-day work across growth marketing programs owned by our team while also serving as the Marketing Strategy lead for one of our programs. Supports and guides team members as they navigate a steep change management curve, acting with a bias of leaning in versus out to help problem solve. Guides creative strategy, testing and process improvements, scaling the usage and impact of new capabilities for our campaigns. Pushes the thinking for new ideas and envisions the longer-term strategy for our program, getting partners and stakeholders bought into this vision and working in unison. Works with the business lead to flesh out a mid- and long-term roadmap for capabilities to build to make a step change in messaging transformation, driving business and consumer value. Is well-versed in AI, machine learning, and next-generation martech capabilities. Actively researches and shares insights with the team. Shepherds multiple marketing creative projects from brief to execution through the process, ensuring strategic intent aligns with execution and timelines are met; collaborates across functions and stakeholders in a well-managed and organized manner. Leverages problem solving and influencing skills to ensure marketing initiatives deliver on intent, bringing a data-based, customer-first mindset to continually optimize the customer experience and in-market results. Maintains excellent communication and partnership skills essential for interacting with key stakeholders at all levels to manage, inform, and influence outcomes, including building presentation materials and cohesive documentation. Experience leading cross-functional agendas in large organizations, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet execution timelines. Detail-oriented with strong prioritization skills. Effective written and oral communication, including presentation abilities. Experience navigating marketing programs through change to enable capabilities and strategies. Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and changing priorities with accurate work. Experience working in matrixed environments, with a track record of making processes more efficient. Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or Military Experience At least 5 years of experience in brand strategy or product marketing on the agency or client side, with experience managing multiple channels including owned channels (email, in-app, SMS, website) At least 5 years of experience planning, executing, and analyzing marketing programs At least 5 years of experience managing creative processes, partnering with creative teams, and developing marketing materials that drive results Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree in marketing or business 1+ years of experience managing the scope and workload of other associates At least 1 year developing marketing strategies leveraging Salesforce Marketing Cloud Experience with Workfront At least 2 years of experience in marketing for financial services or another highly regulated industry At least 5 years of experience driving optimization plans and creative strategy At least 5 years of experience working with cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment with a track record of effectively working autonomously and navigating ambiguity At this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position. The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based on the agreed number of hours to be regularly worked. McLean, VA: $146,100 - $166,700 for Manager, Marketing Richmond, VA: $132,800 - $151,600 for Manager, Marketing Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected in the offer letter. This role is also eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non-discretionary depending on the plan.
