The Role

We’re seeking a highly skilled

Design Systems Lead

to take full ownership of our Linktree design system. This critical role will accelerate our product velocity, ensure design consistency, and strengthen engineer-designer collaboration across the organization. Acting as a key part of our Design Leadership team, you will collaborate with key product design and engineering stakeholders to define, evolve, and govern our system—bringing it from a powerful nascent concept to production-ready implementation. What You’ll Own

Design System Strategy & Leadership:

Lead the roadmap and development of Linktree design system: audit existing components, identify gaps, and prioritize new features for maximum impact. Engineering-Ready Design:

Build system components that are not only visually coherent but also intuitively engineered—from structure to naming conventions to documentation. Cross-Functional Advocacy:

Partner with designers, engineers, and product managers to ensure the system is adopted consistently across product areas—from AI concepting to final UI. Governance & Documentation:

Create comprehensive guidelines, usage patterns, accessibility standards, and contribution workflows to maintain quality and consistency. Continuous Iteration & Growth:

Regularly refine Linktree design system based on real-world needs, new product directions, and emerging design patterns or technology. What We’re Looking For

Demonstrated experience designing and rolling out production-level design systems at scale—bonus if you led large consumer platform systems. A designer-first mindset, with obsessive attention to detail and a belief that design systems are “only systems once they’re in code.” A demonstrable track record of strong, collaborative engineering partnerships—where your design system became easy to adopt, use, and scale in real-world builds. Familiarity with component libraries, token systems, documentation platforms, and cross-functional workflows. Excellent communicator and advocate: you\'re comfortable evangelizing the value and usage of design systems across distributed teams. A burning desire to push the world of design systems into a new age through leveraging cutting edge AI approaches to building and scaling systems.
