Event Technician, Audio Visual (Part Time) - SAFE Credit Union Convention Center

Overview

Event Technician, Audio Visual (Part Time) at Encore – SAFE Credit Union Convention Center. This role involves the setup and operation of basic/small-scale audiovisual systems in a hospitality environment and ensuring customer satisfaction. Reports to an Operations Manager, Operations Director or Director, Event Technology.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a flawlessly executed event through accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of basic audiovisual equipment as listed in the technical qualifications.
• Exceed the expectations and needs of internal and external customers; maintain positive relationships with clients through effective communication.
• Meet with guests on site to ensure needs are met and equipment setup is working properly; monitor events and check in on customers throughout the day; foster the hotel/client relationship.
• Understand and troubleshoot equipment and software issues; handle equipment challenges and changes in a timely and professional manner.
• Follow company processes, complete systems entry and paperwork accurately; use equipment sheets to determine equipment for setup and strike; interact with staff and outside vendors; assist with invoicing and order entries as needed.
• Utilize up-selling techniques where appropriate and collaborate with clients to finalize invoices.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Associate’s degree preferred.
• 1 year of customer service or hospitality experience preferred.
• 1 year of audio-visual experience or equivalent in an educational environment preferred.
• Internal candidates must meet training and certification requirements as determined by Encore’s Global Learning Training Program; external candidates must complete required training and certifications within one year.
• A valid driver’s license is required for team members who may operate company vehicles; additional DOT requirements may apply.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Work Environment

Work is performed in hotel/convention center environments and at event venues, with exposure to outdoor temperatures, dust, and varying noise levels. May work at multiple locations; irregular hours and on-call status including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Appearance guidelines apply as defined by Encore per location.

Pay and Benefits

Hourly Pay Range: $16.60 - $20.33. Compensation based on qualifications, location, travel, experience, and skills. Some roles may be eligible for overtime, bonuses, or incentives. Benefits options are available for employees worldwide.
