Overview

Klaviyo’s Design Team is made up of Product Designers, Content Designers, and Design System specialists. We are a collaborative group and take a human-centered approach to everything that we do. We’re looking for a Lead Content Designer who is up for the challenge of bringing our voice to life and represents Klaviyo’s commitment to user-centricity by curating clear, concise, and meaningful language to design end-to-end user experiences for our customers. This role will bring Klaviyo’s voice to life within our product, delivering clear, concise, and meaningful content that guides users through complex workflows and helps them achieve their goals. You’ll play a key role in defining and scaling our content strategy, voice, and tone across product touchpoints. You’ll also help grow and evolve our content design systems and practices as part of a maturing design organization. Please note that this is a hybrid role that requires 3 days/week onsite in our Boston office. Fully remote candidates will not be considered at this time.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with product designers, product managers, engineers, and brand to create cohesive, end-to-end user experiences across Klaviyo's software.
  • Define and scale our product voice and tone guidelines; ensure consistency across user flows, error states, onboarding, feature education, and service communications.
  • Contribute to and help evolve our content system—establishing patterns, frameworks, and governance to enable scalable content design across teams.
  • Advocate for content design and language quality throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Translate complex concepts and workflows into clear, actionable language that meets users where they are.
  • Use data, user research, and experimentation to inform your work and iterate effectively.
  • Use AI tools to explore new opportunities for content generation, efficiency, and scalability—evaluating where automation can support or enhance the user experience. Manage multiple projects with varying priorities and timelines, and effectively communicate tradeoffs and solutions to stakeholders.
  • Mentor others and contribute to the growth of content design at Klaviyo by sharing best practices and setting quality standards.

What You’ll Need

  • 8+ years of experience in UX writing or content design for software products, preferably B2B SaaS.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing content work across complex user flows, interaction models, and product surfaces.
  • Proven experience shaping content strategies that support user acquisition, conversion, growth, and retention.
  • Ability to balance user needs, business objectives, and technical constraints while advocating for clear and inclusive language.
  • Experience building and maintaining scalable content systems, guidelines, and standards.
  • Proficiency in collaborating across cross-functional teams and presenting your work clearly to stakeholders.
  • Empathy for users and a passion for creating intuitive and human-centered digital experiences.

Nice to Have Skills

  • Familiarity with principles of interaction design and accessibility.
  • Experience using research insights, experimentation, and analytics to inform content decisions.
  • Comfort working in tools like Figma and collaborating in shared design environments.
  • Curiosity about the role of generative AI in content workflows and user experiences.
