Position Summary
Do you love creating content? University Marketing and Communications is hiring a Social Media Content Creator to create original, engaging and high-quality content (primarily video) for the University’s social media accounts. As part of University Marketing and Communications, the Social Media Content Creator will support the Associate Director of Social Media in enhancing the brand and national reputation of the University of Dayton. With a focus on video, the position will create original, engaging and high-quality social media content that aligns with our overall social media strategy.
The Social Media Content Creator is responsible for planning, filming and editing raw footage to develop compelling and concise video content for various social media platforms; staying up-to-date with popular video trends on social media, and pitching ideas that are adapted for the University’s brand; capturing B-roll and still photography; and managing our video asset library. This position assists in authentically and intentionally representing all members of the UD community in our publications and posts.

Responsibilities
- Plan, film and edit raw footage into compelling and concise video content for various social media platforms.
- Stay up-to-date with popular video trends and pitch ideas aligned with the University’s brand.
- Capture B-roll and still photography; manage the video asset library.
- Collaborate with the Associate Director of Social Media to enhance the University’s brand and national reputation.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or associate’s degree and two years of relevant experience.
- Experience in creating on-brand video content for a business, organization or other entity on social media.
- Effective collaboration skills.
- Proven ability to take initiative, meet deadlines and shepherd projects from concept to completion.
- Ability to plan, film and edit raw footage into compelling and concise video content.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years of experience in videography and/or content creation.
- Deep understanding of in-app creator tools across social platforms, and experience with Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Lightroom and Photoshop.
- Demonstrated ability to follow social media trends and implement a social media campaign.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to make community members feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera.
- Experience in managing and maintaining an organized video library.
