AP English Literature and Composition Tutor role at Varsity Tutors, a Nerdy Company. The Varsity Tutors Live Learning Platform connects online tutors with students nationwide. You’ll have the flexibility to set your own schedule, earn competitive rates, and impact students’ learning journeys — all from home.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1-on-1 online AP English Literature and Composition tutoring to students.
• Explain concepts clearly, personalize lessons, and adapt to different learning styles.
• Use the Live Learning Platform to deliver sessions and engage students with real-time instructional support.
• Set your availability, tutor as much as you’d like, and invoice for sessions you conduct; the platform handles payments.
• Leverage features like AI-powered Tutor Copilot to enhance sessions and save prep time.

What We Look For In a Tutor

• Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
• Expertise in AP English Literature and Composition with the ability to explain concepts clearly.
• Ability to personalize lessons and adapt to different learning styles.
• Priority given to those with tutoring or teaching experience and graduate-level education.

Compensation and Benefits

• Base contract rates start at $18/hour and can increase for specialized subjects; pay can reach up to $40/hour with the same student.
