Overview

Software Development Manager, Delivery Tech (Prime Video) — Prime Video & Amazon MGM Studios. Lead development and deployment of scalable, automated Global Video Delivery Solutions (CDN capacity management, video delivery services, etc.). You will work with cross-functional partners to design and deliver state-of-the-art experiences for Prime Video customers at scale.

Prime Video Delivery is the team responsible for orchestrating the best content delivery experience for Prime Video customers. Whether a request is for video-on-demand or a live event we strive to have sufficient capacity available for customers so they have the highest quality viewing experience with zero buffering.

Location: Seattle, WA. This position will remain posted until filled.

Responsibilities

• Define the long-term vision, strategy, and goals for your team
• Hire, manage and grow a team of software engineers, including their projects, performance, and career growth
• Clearly communicate project roadmaps with your team, management, and principal stakeholders
• Collaborate with peers, Product managers and Principal Engineers to deliver highly impactful projects
• Drive continual architectural improvements to the efficiency and flexibility of the platform while maintaining a high bar on customer trust, performance, and availability
• Argue for the right outcomes with data, conviction, and diplomacy

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience
• 7+ years of experience working directly within engineering teams
• 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability, scaling) of new and existing systems
• 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services
• Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems

Compensation and Benefits

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $166,400/year to $287,700/year, depending on market location, knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
