We are forming a new organization within Prime Video to redefine our operational landscape with artificial intelligence. As a Software Development Engineer on this team, you will help build the next generation of business automation. You will collaborate with senior engineers, product managers, and scientists to design, develop, and deploy agentic AI solutions that power this transformation. This is an opportunity to work on the ground floor of a new initiative, engage with complex distributed systems, and directly improve how Prime Video operates for customers worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and deploy high-quality, scalable, and reliable services for the automation platform.
  • Collaborate with other engineers, product managers, and applied scientists to deliver on the product roadmap and solve customer problems.
  • Apply problem-solving skills to tackle technical challenges in a large-scale distributed environment.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including design reviews, code reviews, and operational support, while adhering to engineering best practices.
  • Translate business needs into features and systems that directly impact internal customers and improve efficiency.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
  • Experience programming in at least one programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience with the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Depending on the position, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
