Technical Writer – Supply Chain Modernization
Location: Atlanta, GA 30339
Onsite Mon-Thurs, remote on Fridays
Contract: 6 month
Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Technical Writer with 2–5 years of experience to support a major supply chain modernization initiative at our distribution client. This role will focus on documenting evolving processes, workflows, and system changes driven by this transformation. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including field operations, corporate logistics, and change management to ensure all documentation is clear, accurate, and user-friendly for non-technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), project managers, field teams, and system analysts to understand upcoming process and system changes.
- Create, update, and maintain documentation including:
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Work instructions
- Process maps
- Translate complex process changes into clear, concise documentation suitable for warehouse staff, logistics teams, and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure all documentation complies with internal standards and aligns with business terminology and brand tone.
- Maintain version control and manage documentation repositories to ensure stakeholders always have access to the most current materials.
- Assist with identifying documentation gaps and recommending improvements to support process clarity and adoption.
Qualifications
Required:
- 2–5 years of experience in technical writing, process documentation, or related roles.
- Experience documenting business processes or systems, preferably in logistics, supply chain, or manufacturing environments.
- Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and cross-functionally in a fast-paced, evolving project environment.
- Proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Office (Word, Visio, PowerPoint), Google Workspace, and documentation management systems.
Preferred:
- Familiarity with supply chain operations, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), or WMS (Warehouse Management Systems).
- Experience working on large-scale transformation or modernization projects.
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or process improvement methodologies.
