Lee Enterprise is looking for a driven, innovative
Senior Director, Product Management Advertising
to lead product strategy and development for our Advertising vertical. This role is pivotal in shaping digital advertising products, optimizing monetization, and driving growth across our digital ad platforms. The ideal candidate will combine strong product management expertise with an understanding of the advertising ecosystem, and an interest in leveraging emerging technologies like AI to deliver smarter, more effective solutions. Responsibilities
Own and evolve the Advertising Product Roadmap. Develop and launch ad products that drive revenue growth, exploring new monetization opportunities, upsell paths, and pricing models. Collaborate with sales, marketing, engineering, analytics, and editorial to translate advertiser and publisher needs into product requirements. Use analytics and A/B testing to monitor and maximize ad performance (e.g., fill rate, RPM, CTR, viewability). Apply AI/ML-driven solutions such as predictive targeting, automated audience segmentation, creative optimization, and performance insights. Modernize and integrate platforms with dynamic ad units, paywall-integrated ads, ad bundling, and creative templates to improve workflows. Support advertiser and partner success by equipping teams with training, demos, and materials that clearly communicate product value and ROI. Work with external partners to develop new product offerings that expand beyond the traditional publishing advertising catalog, creating differentiated value for advertisers and new revenue streams for the business. Qualifications
5+ years of experience in product management for digital advertising, ad tech, or monetization solutions (DSPs, SSPs, ad servers). Strong analytical and business acumen, with experience managing ad revenue metrics and financial trade-offs. Hands-on Agile experience with roadmaps, backlog management, user stories, and sprint ceremonies. Excellent communication skills to engage technical and business stakeholders, and present insights to senior leadership. Knowledge of the digital advertising ecosystem and compliance. Preferred Traits and Experience
Experience with newsroom monetization or publisher ad platforms. Understanding of subscription–ad tradeoffs and paywall monetization strategies. Background with A/B testing platforms, dashboards, or Salesforce. Familiarity with HubSpot and Naviga. Exposure to AI/ML applications in advertising, such as generative creative, predictive analytics, or recommendation systems. Why Join Us?
