The position works within the communications team and collaborates with the global marketing and communications team. Position summary and focus are on content development, including creating content for the firm’s website such as Alerts, Advisories, Newsletters, blog posts, articles, and other web content. Responsibilities
Copyedits and proofs external and client-facing content including Alerts, Advisories, Newsletters, blog posts, articles, website content, and other items as needed Work with practice leaders and department professionals to vet external content Post and distribute content (internal and external) and stay abreast of sensitive firm topics and advertising ethics Contribute to overall content strategy and develop timely and relevant content topics Handle multiple simultaneous Alerts and deadlines; prioritize and escalate critical issues as needed Maintain firm content standards and style guidelines; assist with SEO tagging and optimization of the firm’s website Interpret Google Analytics and provide ongoing suggestions for improvements Post content on the firm’s website; assist with content updates to RFP and proposal material Review various social media posts as needed Work on short- and long-term projects; support other tasks as needed Qualifications
Outstanding written and oral communication skills; able to communicate effectively with attorneys and professionals at all levels Attention to detail, ability to work under pressure, and manage multiple tight deadlines Familiarity with legal writing and strong writing/copyediting skills (preferred) Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work well as part of a team Advanced knowledge of The AP Style Guide and English grammar and style Understanding of attorney advertising and marketing compliance rules; familiarity with Google Analytics Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree required; major in journalism, public relations, English, communications, or related field preferred J.D. preferred or experience in legal writing and/or legal journalism Experience posting to websites using WordPress or other content management systems beneficial 4–6 years of professional experience as a legal writer or content developer with experience in both print and web content Experience at a law firm or professional services firm strongly preferred Technology
High proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; basic HTML and ability to quickly learn new technologies Experience with Sitecore, Qorus, SharePoint, email campaign software, and/or legal marketing technologies a plus Compensation & Benefits
The expected pay range for this position is
$95,000 to $106,650 per year . Salary will be determined based on education, experience, job-related factors permitted by law, internal equity, and market data, including geographic pay differentials. Full-time employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, health insurance with an optional HSA, short-term and long-term disability, dental, vision, life insurance, flexible spending accounts, 401K, vacation, sick time, and an employee assistance program. Additional voluntary programs and commuter/transit programs may be available in certain markets.
