Overview
The Graphic Designer will be an integral part of an internal creative team and fully participate in the creative process, including concept development, art creation, graphic production, feedback and approval, and finishing specifications. This position will be responsible for designing a variety of work for audiences including builders, consumers, plumbers, showroom consultants, internal teams, and more.
Responsibilities
- Work within a collaborative creative group and also individually on multiple projects and initiatives. Partner with team members from Product, Channel, Sales, Marketing Communications and external agencies to translate marketing needs into unique, brand-driven, consumer/customer-focused designs within budget.
- Provide design support with other designers, including versioning designs, implementing design direction, and working with printers or production partners.
- Deliver high-quality creative content while maintaining consistent standards throughout production. Balance multiple projects with tight deadlines to ensure timely delivery.
- Design and develop materials from concept to production across projects such as packaging, merchandising, POP, event signage, product launch support, labels, and marketing materials, including digital graphics and more.
- Facilitate reviews internally and externally, provide updates, and meet varied deadlines. Offer thoughtful design solutions to solve business needs; reach design solutions quickly and efficiently with input from multiple voices and stakeholders.
- Consult with internal clients (e.g., Marketing Services, Channel, Product) to create cohesive designs that reflect goals and standards for retailers, customers, and influencers.
- Combine art and technology to communicate brand and product detail through images and layout for hard-copy or digital materials.
- Organize complex source materials into simpler, integrated visual design.
- Interpret feedback and adjust accordingly; proactively manage the feedback loop.
- Maintain organization of art files using the companys Digital Asset Management system and established filing systems.
- Potential to partner with vendors including photo/video studios, CGI agencies, and other creative partners.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Design or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 3 years of graphic design experience; in-house or agency experience is preferred.
- Strong design aesthetic and color sense; strong portfolio showing design skills and process.
- Strong production skills with an eye for detail; working knowledge of packaging industry, structure, and print production.
- Ability to translate concept ideas into presentable mock-ups.
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative, rapidly changing environment with tight timelines and multiple priorities. Self-motivated; able to work efficiently and independently with limited supervision. Will seek information and take direction from project requestors and stakeholders.
- Excellent oral and presentation skills. Ability to work in project management systems (e.g., Asana, InMotionNow) and in a Digital Asset Management system (e.g., Widen).
- Proficiency with MAC operating systems and expertise in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Acrobat. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- A creative portfolio showcasing graphic design skills is required for consideration.
Additional Information
Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. Base salary range: $55,000 USD - $88,000 USD. Actual salary may vary based on education, training, experience, achievement, business need, and location. Eligible for annual bonus or role-based sales incentive based on performance.
