Overview

A major beauty company in LA is seeking a Packaging Designer who can render in Rhino. The role involves conceptual and technical packaging design, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and guiding packaging projects from concept to production.

Responsibilities

  • Package design development and artwork layout
  • Ensure packaging designs adhere to industry standards, regulations, and guidelines
  • Prepare and pack files to send to suppliers
  • Understand printing deco treatments, Pantones, foil, and related production considerations
  • Use TAG (software to upload/approve artwork) where applicable
  • Conceptual design for secondary packaging
  • Create moodboards that communicate the concept and brand story
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (marketing, product development, manufacturing) to understand packaging requirements and project goals
  • Perform design research and stay current with industry trends to identify opportunities for innovative packaging
  • Anticipate potential roadblocks and develop proactive solutions
  • Coordinate with external vendors and suppliers to ensure successful execution
  • Maintain high attention to detail and ensure designs are quality-checked and error-free
  • Adhere to project timelines and deliver designs within deadlines
  • Adapt to changing requirements and perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Stay current on industry trends and follow brand guidelines; illustrate a brand pattern for use across mediums

Qualifications

  • 4+ years experience in Graphic Design, Packaging Design, or a related field
  • Proven experience as a Packaging Designer with a strong portfolio
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dimension) and other relevant design software; Rhino or SolidWorks experience a plus
  • Strong understanding of packaging design principles, materials, and production processes
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Exceptional attention to detail and aesthetics
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently
  • Strong time management and organizational skills; capable of managing multiple projects
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Forward-thinking and proactive about anticipating needs
