Overview
ECS is seeking a Visual Designer to work remotely for our national security customers. The role involves hands-on design across print and digital collateral, data visualization, branding, and presentation design. The candidate should demonstrate strong foundational design skills, initiative, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in a structured, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple work products across multiple clients simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Collaborate with leads, project managers, and subject matter experts to translate ideas into compelling visual content.
- Apply creativity and technical skills in all aspects of graphic design including concepts, typography, imagery, color, and layouts.
- Design graphics, infographics, templates, and layouts for presentations, reports, and SharePoint websites per government branding guidelines.
- Follow established visual standards and contribute to improving templates and visual systems.
- Ensure deliverables meet accessibility requirements, including Section 508 compliance.
- Provide proofing and quality control to ensure accuracy and timely delivery.
- Prepare final files for digital and print production with attention to detail and quality.
- Develop and design all phases of assigned projects from concept to final production (e.g., brand design, ads, digital brochures, proposal graphics, executive presentations, logos, e-newsletters, reports, and web design).
- Create wireframes, storyboards, and site maps to communicate interaction and design ideas for websites and other products.
- Work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in graphic design or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum 5-7 years of graphic design experience.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, InDesign, XD, etc.) and Microsoft Office; especially PowerPoint.
- Ability to manage, prioritize, and multi-task on multiple projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Must successfully complete a stringent Background Investigation; government security clearance (Active DHS clearance a plus; U.S. Citizenship required per contract terms).
Desired Skills
- Active DHS clearance is a plus; ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
- Experience with DHS processes (EOD/Suitability).
- Familiarity with Section 508 accessibility standards.
- Experience with Atlassian products, WordPress, and SharePoint.
- Experience designing content for government organizations; UX research-driven design approaches.
- Basic coding knowledge (HTML, CSS) or UX/UI design tools.
- Photography and/or video experience is a plus.
Benefits and Other
