About the Role
We're seeking a skilled Video Colorist to elevate our content through advanced color grading and correction. You'll work across diverse client brands, ensuring visual consistency and enhancing storytelling through color. This role focuses on maintaining brand identity through precise color work while meeting the fast-paced demands of social media content creation.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit 3-4 short-form videos daily (Instagram Reels, TikToks, YouTube Shorts) maintaining brand consistency
- Replicate and maintain unique client styles across multiple accounts
- Deliver platform-optimized exports (vertical, square, horizontal) meeting technical specifications
Color Grading & Correction
- Execute advanced color grading on content daily using DaVinci Resolve
- Develop and maintain custom LUTs and PowerGrades for each client brand
- Ensure color consistency across multi-camera shoots and varying lighting conditions
- Perform primary and secondary color corrections, skin tone matching, and shot matching
- Create distinct visual looks that enhance storytelling and emotional impact
- Balance footage from mixed sources (iPhone, mirrorless, professional cameras)
Technical Workflow
- Manage color pipelines from RAW/Log footage to final delivery
- Work with various color spaces and formats (Rec. 709, sRGB for social media)
- Create and organize node-based grading structures for efficient workflows
- Maintain LUT libraries and color presets for brand consistency
- Handle color matching between short-form and long-form content
Collaboration & Quality Control
- Document all workflows and create detailed SOPs to ensure continuity during absences
- Work closely with editors to integrate color work into production pipeline
- Interpret creative briefs to develop appropriate color treatments
- Maintain organized project files and color grade documentation
- Meet tight turnaround times (same-day delivery for priority content)
- Train editors on basic color correction techniques and LUT application
- Document all workflows and create detailed SOPs to ensure continuity during absences
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of professional color grading experience
- Expert proficiency in DaVinci Resolve (required)
- Strong understanding of color theory, contrast, and visual storytelling
- Experience with node-based grading and secondary corrections
- Knowledge of color spaces, gamma curves, and technical standards
- Portfolio demonstrating range of color styles and brand work
- Ability to match diverse footage sources and maintain consistency
- Experience grading for social media platforms
Technical Requirements
- Advanced knowledge of DaVinci Resolve color page
- Basic understanding of HDR/SDR delivery
- Understanding of scopes (waveform, vectorscope, parade)
- Experience with RAW workflows and Log formats
- Familiarity with color management systems
- Experience with DaVinci Resolve control panels (preferred)
