Hours:
Sunday: 6:00am-3pm (Sunday Services)
Monday: As Needed
Tuesday: As Needed
Wednesday: As Needed (Evening Service Rehearsal)
Thursday: As Needed (Church On Thursday)
Saturday: As Needed

Hourly Rate: $20-25 depending on proven experience

General Functions:

The Audio Engineer is excellent in service production, team-building and soundscaping primarily in a live setting.

Supervision Received:

Reports directly to the Production Director. Employee seeks authorization for broad scope of tasks.

Scope & Dimensions:

Interacts with all staff and volunteers to create relevant, fun and engaging experiences primarily in worship services at EastLake Church.

  • Mix FOH and/or broadcast for in-person and online services.
  • Prepare and set up for services including wireless microphones, IEM packs, stage equipment, and control surface show files/scenes.
  • Help maintain an environment of audio excellence in multiple zones including a 1,200 seat auditorium, multiple smaller auditoriums and meeting rooms, an outdoor breezeway and patio, and outdoor ambient systems.
  • Assist in rehearsal and pre-service rehearsals.
  • Stay in the room throughout each service operating the mixing control surface and other systems including track playback.
  • Assist in repairs, maintenance and upgrades to audio equipment as needed.
  • Ability to work within a team environment to help maintain general standards and practices including: optimal sound pressure levels, overall organization and cleanliness of equipment and systems.
  • Ability to work within a team environment to help further define and realize an overall sonic brand that is genre-specifically influenced and intended to create an emotional response appropriate for worship.

Experience And Educational Requirements:

  • Experience with or knowledge of digital mixing control surface/mixrack systems such as Allen and Heath dLive (s7000, s5000, Avantis, DX expanders, ME-1 monitor mixers), Behringer X32, etc.
  • Experience with audio digital networking/virtual snakes such as Allen & Heath giga-ACE, Waves Sound Grid, Dante.
  • Experience with various PA systems and configurations including passive and active speaker enclosures and arrays, in-ear and wedge monitoring, and various small portable rigs.
  • Experience with software such as Ableton Live and Apple Logic Pro.
  • Experience with troubleshooting and repair of audio systems.
  • Two years experience in related environment.
  • A professing Christian with a deep commitment to living out biblical principles and actively participating in a local Bible-believing church.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Additional duties as assigned.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

  • Mobile – In and out of office to ensure task completion.
  • Overtime hours as required by ministry needs.
  • Church staff is required to abide by the Cultural Expectations (tithe, attendance, conduct, etc.).
