Responsibilities
- Design the future of sound: Lead the design of complex micro-mechanical structures for advanced speaker modules, using techniques like insert molding and acoustic mesh integration.
- Prototype + perfect: Rapidly build, test, and refine concepts, using data-driven validation to push the limits of audio performance.
- Drive products from concept to scale: Partner with cross-functional teams from early design through high-volume manufacturing, ensuring products meet the highest standards.
- Collaborate globally: Work directly with international partners and world-class manufacturers to bring designs to life. (Some travel, ~15%)
- Innovate continuously: Stay ahead of the curve in audio and mechanical engineering, exploring new technologies and materials.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- 4+ years in mechanical product design & development, ideally in micro-speaker systems for consumer electronics.
- Strong background in DFM/DFA, tolerance analysis, and geometric tolerancing.
- Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD and knowledge of plastics, metals, adhesives, and glass.
- Hands-on experience with high-volume manufacturing processes like injection molding, machining, and stamping.
Bonus Points
- Master's or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Experience with NX CAD.
- Familiarity with cosmetic surface treatments & collaboration with industrial design teams.
- Previous experience working with overseas vendors.
