Picture Archiving And Communication System Administrator
We are seeking a PACS Administrator - Breast Imaging Center for a 6-month contract in the Northeast.
Start Date: ASAP
Travel: 50% onsite (travel is reimbursed)
Length: 6 months
Key Responsibilities
- System Management: Overseeing the daily operations of the PACS, including data transfer, archiving, and routing of images. (ERAD and GE PACS are currently in use).
- Troubleshooting & Support: Resolving technical issues and workflow problems for radiologists and technologists using the PACS for breast imaging.
- Work closely with the end users, IS Department, and vendors to quickly resolve issues.
- Quality Control: Ensuring the quality and integrity of mammography images and performing quality control checks on the imaging equipment.
- System Integration: Assisting with the integration of new imaging modalities and coordinating software updates and patches for the breast imaging systems. (This will not be needed in Phase 2A but will be needed in future phases of work.)
- Data Integrity: Monitoring data security and integrity within the PACS to ensure compliance and accuracy of breast imaging data.
- User Training: Providing end-user support and training to the breast imaging staff on how to effectively use the PACS and related systems.
- Collaboration: Working with IT departments, radiologists, and hospital administration to optimize PACS/RIS and other radiology-related systems.
Required Skills & Knowledge
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in managing PACS/RIS software, understanding DICOM and HL7 standards, and troubleshooting complex imaging systems.
- Medical Imaging Knowledge: Familiarity with the imaging process and the specific requirements of breast imaging, including meeting standards set by organizations like the American College of Radiology (ACR).
- Communication: Strong communication skills to provide end-user support and collaborate with various stakeholders in a healthcare environment.
