Associate Dean, Academic Affairs, English, Communication (South Campus)

The purpose of the job is to serve in a management and leadership capacity reporting to the appropriate Dean or Administrator for the responsibility of overall department operations in accordance with college policies, procedures and contractual agreements, and college/pathway strategic planning goals and objectives.

Employees in this job classification are responsible for the comprehensive coordination and administration of all matters relating to personnel, students, scheduling, curriculum implementation, external agencies, instruction, and all financial considerations relating to the department, and accomplish such in coordination with the college\'s mission and college-wide goals and campus-based initiatives.

Associated Deans provide leadership for all instructional programs which may include all or some of the courses within the bachelor of applied science, associate in arts, associate in science, and associate in applied science degrees as well as vocational and technical certificates. Performs related work as directed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership for department operations in alignment with college policies, procedures, contractual agreements, and strategic planning goals.
  • Coordinate and administer personnel, student affairs, scheduling, curriculum implementation, external agencies, instruction, and financial matters for the department.
  • Lead instructional programs across applicable degree and certificate offerings.

Qualifications

Minimum Education

  • Master\'s degree required. Doctorate degree preferred.

Minimum Experience/Training

  • Three years of teaching experience at the postsecondary level, with a history of demonstrated leadership roles in educational settings.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, financial management and budget design skills.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching and scholarly/creative research in higher education.
  • In-depth knowledge of the academic disciplines.

Salary

Salary Range: $81,900 - $94,185; salary commensurate with education and experience.
