What We’re Looking for in a Traveling Community Manager

  • Ability to travel up to 90% with reliable, insured transportation.
  • 2+ years of multifamily property management experience, with proven leadership skills.
  • Strong communication and decision-making abilities with a high sense of urgency and ownership.
  • Proficiency in AppFolio or similar property management software.
  • Experience overseeing leasing performance, collections, budgeting, and vendor coordination.
  • Confidence navigating challenging resident situations and inspiring team excellence.
  • A natural problem solver and people-first leader with a passion for community impact.
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and jump into any task—big or small.

What You’ll Do as a Traveling Community Manager

  • Travel to various DLP multifamily communities to step in as an interim Community Manager, offering consistent leadership, structure, and execution.
  • Set the tone each day by driving key priorities such as leasing strategies, resident engagement, occupancy goals, and team performance.
  • Collaborate with on-site maintenance and service teams to ensure unit turns, work orders, and curb appeal are addressed promptly and professionally.
  • Conduct daily walk-throughs of the property to ensure amenities, office, and grounds are clean, functional, and aligned with brand standards.
  • Review financials and drive budget performance by managing expenses, analyzing revenue streams, and identifying areas for operational improvement.
  • Lead, coach, and support on-site team members, ensuring accountability, team morale, and a culture of excellence.
  • Handle resident concerns or escalations with empathy and efficiency, creating positive, long-lasting relationships.
  • Support marketing efforts, resident retention strategies, and event planning to cultivate a thriving community atmosphere.
  • Maintain compliance with all local regulations, Fair Housing guidelines, and internal SOPs.
