Responsibilities

  • Uphold editorial standards for written content: define voice, tone, inclusivity, and difficulty calibration guidelines
  • Edit, fact-check, and validate content items to ensure clarity, accuracy, and cultural sensitivity
  • Organize content data using structured taxonomies (categories, tags, metadata) to support variety, discoverability, and progression
  • Contribute to the development of editorial tools and workflows that support efficient content management
  • Support with planning and rollout of cycles of live content, ensuring quality and consistency
  • Develop a larger content update strategy, considering player behavior and real-world trends
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure content aligns with broader engagement and retention strategies
  • Gather and interpret customer feedback on specific pieces of content to identify areas for improvement
  • Use structured data (e.g., telemetry, engagement metrics, completion rates) to refine written content for clarity, pacing, and progression
  • Partner with data analysts to build and maintain dashboards that surface actionable insights for editorial and product teams

Requirements

  • A degree is "nice to have" but not a mandatory requirement for the role; it will be listed as a preferred qualification, ideally in Writing or a similar field
  • 5-7 overall years of experience in the field
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience with data fluency: ability to interpret dashboards and spreadsheets and translate insights into editorial actions
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience with content management systems and task tracking tools (e.g. Jira, Azure DevOps)
  • Minimum 3-5+ years of experience with editorial, content development, educational/game writing, or related roles; portfolio of strong writing/editing
  • Performance indicators: performance will be assessed based on ability to work in a fast-paced environment and quality of work
  • Disqualifiers: candidates should provide writing samples or portfolios as part of the application process

  • Exceptional writing and line-editing skills with a commitment to accuracy
  • Experience editing short form knowledge items and structuring content with taxonomy/metadata
  • Passion for general knowledge and curiosity across a wide range of topics; ability to research quickly and effectively
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills across cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in live-service or free-to-play environments with ongoing content refresh cycles
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies that support content creation and optimization
  • Understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive content practices
  • Background in moderation or trust and safety for user-facing content
