Aquent is seeking an experienced Content Strategist to design and drive content frameworks that align with our leading Tech client's business priorities, audience insights, and product messaging. This role goes beyond content execution - it requires strategic systems thinking, audience fluency, and cross-functional alignment to ensure content drives measurable business outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Develop strategy frameworks: Translate business goals, audience insights, and SEO signals into structured content roadmaps that connect awareness through decision-making.
- Audience-driven planning: Differentiate content strategy for multiple decision-maker audiences (e.g., TDM vs. BDM) using qualitative and quantitative research, including SEO and analyst data.
- Messaging alignment: Ensure content strategies stay consistent with product messaging frameworks and brand guardrails while allowing for flexibility across channels, partners, and campaign phases.
- Content architecture & planning: Define content themes, funnel sequencing, and editorial priorities tied to key marketing beats
- Performance & optimization: Establish success metrics beyond traffic (e.g., engagement depth, conversion signals, retargeting pool growth). Use performance data to iterate content strategy and inform future roadmaps.
- Stakeholder collaboration: Partner with internal teams, agencies, and cross-functional stakeholders to align content with broader go-to-market strategy. Evangelize content strategy internally with clarity and credibility.
- Governance & quality oversight: Review content for strategic alignment and narrative strength. Guide copywriters and execution partners to deliver content that reflects strategy, rather than rewriting.
Qualifications
- 5+ years in B2B content strategy, content planning, or editorial strategy for commercial/enterprise technology brands, with a portfolio or proof of work required to demonstrate strategic thinking and execution.
- Strong fluency in audience segmentation and ability to design differentiated strategies for technical vs. business decision-makers.
- Proven ability to translate research and SEO insights into actionable content frameworks.
- Experience aligning content to strict brand/messaging frameworks while maintaining creativity and audience relevance.
- Metrics-driven mindset: experience defining KPIs, interpreting content performance, and iterating strategy based on signals.
- Strong collaborator with high adaptability and a demonstrated ability to balance strategic integrity with stakeholder feedback.
Compensation
Compensation Range: $45 -50/hr DOE. The range provided is our reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role. The actual amount may be higher or lower, based on factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities and location.
