OVERVIEW

We are looking for a video editor who is excited by the prospect of working on a variety of content types for a variety of platforms. The ideal candidate embraces platform-specific tactics to yield the best performance, while also contributing their own style and creativity. Efficiency matters, but learning new tools and software to improve video quality and unlock new editing possibilities is encouraged.

Editors are not just hands-on keyboards executing notes from a producer. We welcome input and involvement in scripting and pre-production to achieve the best post-production outcomes. You are the first to know when a video is dragging, so call it out and trim unnecessary portions from interviews when possible.

HERE\'S WHAT YOU'LL BE WORKING ON

• Editing 10-20 minute YouTube videos in a variety of styles (Explainer, vlog, and doc styles are most common, with ongoing experimentation)
• Partnering with producers to craft story, not just execute directives
• Music selection, sound design, basic color correction and audio leveling
• Coordinating with motion graphics designers to efficiently integrate animations
• Working with a motion graphics team, plus basic keyframing, text-on-screen moments, and basic VFX looks using RedGiant effects
• Editing podcast videos and clips for social
• Collaborating with social video producers on shortform explainers or on-site experiential edits

QUALIFICATIONS

• 4+ years of editing experience in Adobe Premiere Pro
• Experience editing for YouTube and social video platforms
• Basic proficiency in After Effects or Photoshop is a nice-to-have
• Ability to be scrappy in Premiere when creating graphics and text elements
• Comfortable managing multiple edits at a time
• Ability to edit for humor and for dense explainers, sometimes in the same video
• You consume YouTube content and are aware of trends and best practices for the platform
• You can regularly work from our office in Manhattan

COMPENSATION

$90,000 - $100,000

Final offers for this job will be made within the parameters of the salary range provided, commensurate with experience. Total offer package to include benefits highlighted under our perks section below.
