Overview
Educational Aide, Library at Inside Higher Ed for the Lawrence W. Tyree Library located at Santa Fe College’s Northwest Campus. This position supports library circulation, collection maintenance, and quality library services in alignment with SF and FERPA policies. Responsibilities
- Provides a professional, helpful, and welcoming atmosphere by greeting, responding to, and directing visitors at the Tyree Library service desks on the NW campus.
- Accepts, screens, and routes telephone calls concerning library activities and operations; directs inquiries as appropriate.
- Provides front-line resolution to questions or concerns and makes referrals as necessary.
- Assists library users with borrowing materials, study room reservations, computers, printing, Wi-Fi, and general library questions.
- Shelves and maintains library materials.
- Identifies and communicates safety or policy concerns/needs throughout the building.
- Operates and maintains office equipment (copy machines, laminators, document shredders) as needed.
- Ensures rooms are clean, wipings desks in designated areas; sanitizes desks and chairs.
- Provides general administrative support for Library staff.
- Strictly honors the privacy and security of student records and other sensitive information according to applicable regulations and policies.
- Complies with College Rules and procedures, including FERPA and confidentiality requirements.
- Delivers service excellence through courteous, informed, accessible, and professional engagement.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Required: Must be a currently enrolled Santa Fe College student, in good academic standing, taking six (6) or more credit hours.
- Additional Requirements: A criminal background check will be conducted.
- Preferred: Availability to work mornings, nights, and/or weekends.
