Medical Assistant (Travel Chesapeake, Virginia Beach, Newport News) Job at Child

Overview

The Medical Assistant position is a multi-skilled role that supports the non-clinical and clinical functions of the service area. The employee works under the direction and continuous supervision of a licensed healthcare provider (MD, NP, RN, LPN) during uncomplicated clinical services and reports to department management.

Responsibilities

• Provides safe and effective delivery of uncomplicated clinical services and tasks under the direction and continuous supervision of a licensed health care provider.
• Provides appropriate clinical and non-clinical information to facilitate visit process.
• Maintains sterility and cleanliness of the environment.
• Maintains supplies, equipment and instruments.
• Supports and performs clerical functions as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Licenses and Certifications

• Current registration/certification as a Medical Assistant preferred, or military medical experience with MA certification/registration required.
• Current CPR certification required.

Minimum Education and Experience

• Graduate of an approved school for Medical Assistants (MOA, MAA, MA).
• One to two years of experience in a related healthcare field preferred.
• Must provide record of a completed diploma (or equivalent) or academic transcript for those areas performing complexity testing.

Working Conditions

Expected to work in a patient care environment with minimal exposure to environmental hazards such as excessive noise, dust, or extremes in temperatures. Exposure to communicable diseases and moderately adverse working conditions due to the need to perform certain patient care activities can be expected.

Additional Information

Monday - Friday 7:45am - 4:15pm. Must travel to Chesapeake, Virginia Beach & Newport News.
