The Manager, Global Procurement – Corporate Affairs & Public Relations will be responsible for supporting and assisting in the development and implementation of the overall strategy for the Commercial Communications Area (Advertising, CA/PR, Media and Promotional Medical Communications) and have a lead role in Corporate Affairs/Public Relations strategy by gathering and anticipating business supply needs and specifications. The ideal candidate will be a business strategy influencer and collaborator to advise our Commercial teams around market supply dynamics and leading practices. The role focuses on proactively managing a supply base to maximize value, minimize risk, and ensure quality and cost effectiveness by working collaboratively with colleagues and business partners. This is an opportunity to leverage Procurement & Category Management experience to anticipate future business requirements for Regeneron\u2019s growing commercial activities.
Typical Day (illustrative) May include activities across global procurement strategy, stakeholder alignment, cost management, and supplier/agency negotiations.
Responsibilities
- Accountable for supporting the definition and implementation of the Global Commercial Communication & Corporate Affairs/Public Relations Category strategies to serve global and regional business needs.
- Work closely with stakeholders to manage discussions and align category priorities with Procurement management and stakeholders.
- Leverage analytical and negotiation skills to drive cost competitiveness and provide financial insights and recommendations to enable decision making.
- Drive value in terms of cost savings, cash flow improvement, and other efficiency savings from agency activities.
- Participate in organizational decisions in the Commercial Communications categories with critical short and long-term impact on the success, efficiency, growth, and results of the study team.
- Demonstrate knowledge of efficient global procurement organizations and processes within the biopharmaceutical industry to support growth and evolution of the Global Procurement organization and drive improvements aligned with corporate priorities.
- Manage category study activities to ensure compliance with appropriate GxPs and other applicable regulations, as applicable.
- Negotiate contract terms and conditions in consultation with Law, aligned with Regeneron priorities and business requirements, as needed.
- May manage teams of professional staff responsible for performing category management tasks (directly or through a matrix structure).
- Use data to drive decision-making for successful category study projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field plus 7+ years progressive experience in procurement and experience managing category processes and suppliers across multiple categories.
- Working knowledge of sourcing contracting tools, ERPs, and eRFX systems preferred (e.g., Oracle, Zycus, GEP, Ariba).
- Sophisticated negotiation skills and proficiency in using data to build business cases.
- Cost modeling knowledge.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to build consensus across a diverse, collaborative team with limited supervision.
- Program/project management experience.
- Ability to build influential relationships with stakeholders and suppliers to drive results.
- Integrity, focus, and clarity; ability to thrive in an evolving environment.
- Proficiency with standard business applications for communicating, presenting, and analyzing data (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Salary and Employment Details
Salary Range (annually): $113,100.00 - $184,700.00. Seniority level: Mid-Senior level. Employment type: Contract. Job function: Purchasing and Supply Chain. Industries: Internet News.
