Overview

As a Software Defined Radio (SDR) Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer with MTSI you will support a government organization essential to U.S. national security. In this position you will apply knowledge and expertise to ensure the reliability and performance of advanced communication and sensing RF systems through rigorous development and testing. This position will be located in Crystal City, Virginia.

Responsibilities

• Primary experience with Software-Defined Radio (SDR) communication system design, development, testing, and fielding is required
• Lead the technical execution of communication systems risk reduction, development, and integration including requirements definition/refinement, risk management, and evaluation of functional, logical, and physical architectures/interfaces
• Experience with all areas of Interoperable Enterprise Military Communications and Networking Technologies, including Line of Sight (LOS), Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS), onboard and off-board
• Knowledge and experience with Low Probability of Intercept (LPI) and Low Probability of Detection (LPD) waveforms and practices
• Familiarity with common interoperability and communications test and certifications (e.g. AIMS, JITC, NSA) is highly desired, with understanding of development systems engineering for communications, networks, and interoperability
• Familiarity with Advanced Communications and Networking system development, integration, test, procurement, and sustainment, as well as Information Exchange Requirements (IERs), Network Centric Warfare, and Communications/Networking Subsystem integration into the overall Weapon System
• Ability to lead Government and industry teams in developing system requirements verification matrices, technical plans, design reviews, test reviews, and technical assessments
• Manage multiple technology development efforts from concept ideation through product delivery
• Develop technical briefings and communicate technical content to a wide range of audiences including senior leaders
• Assist Acquisition Program Managers by documenting and communicating issues and solutions to the customer and contract management structure as needed

Required Qualifications

• 15+ years of relevant experience with Software Defined Radio development, test, and fielding
• Proven experience with Department of Defense communication systems
• Excellent spoken, written, and interpersonal skills

Desired Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge and experience with Software Defined Radios, communication and/or sensing architecture and waveform generation

Education Requirements

• Bachelor\'s degree in engineering, physics, mathematics or related technical degree from an accredited institution
• Master\'s degree in engineering, physics, mathematics or related technical degree from an accredited institution DESIRED
