Overview

The Video Coordinator for Men’s Basketball will assist the Men’s Basketball coaching staff in meeting the video, scouting and analytics needs of an NCAA Division I men’s basketball program.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for game day video acquisition, practice video, self-scout and opponent breakdown of games. Use game analysis and scouting software to provide cut-ups and scouting reports to the coaches.
  • Evaluate film and develop scouting reports.
  • Produce highlight tapes and other multimedia content for men’s basketball and other sports as assigned using innovative production and graphic techniques.
  • Produce video, website and multimedia content for use in recruiting by coaching staff, as permitted by NCAA rules.
  • Responsible for training and counseling of part-time video assistants, graduate assistants, student managers and others as assigned.
  • Follow all departmental safety protocols at all times; carry heavy equipment at times and ensure that equipment is set up properly for practices, game days and other events; all cameras, cabling and other equipment must be checked for safety of student-athletes, staff and patrons.
  • Attend non-revenue generating sporting events for free.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and one (1) year of related experience in an internship or Graduate Assistant role.
  • Prior experience in a collegiate basketball program, athletic department, athletic conference office or similar environment.
  • Must be familiar with basketball rules and strategies with the ability to recognize nuances and tendencies; familiarity with NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and as a team; creativity within a structured environment; ability to work non-traditional hours; proficient with all forms of social media.
  • Proficiency with DV Sport (or similar) software; Microsoft Office and Google product suites.
  • Must be familiar with basketball terminology, offensive and defensive schemes, and how to exploit opponent strategies in game planning.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree and two or more years of experience in a collegiate basketball program, athletic department, athletic conference office or similar environment.
  • Experience at a Division I-A institution or conference office working with collegiate basketball programs is preferred.
  • Strong working relationship with all members of the men’s basketball coaching staff; participate in staff meetings and strategy sessions; represent the program on frequent occasions.
