Your New Role…
CNN seeks a talented Producer I to join the Smerconish team !
Your Role Accountabilities…
This producer is responsible for both guest segments and control room producing. Must pitch compelling and creative segment ideas.
The producer needs strong editorial judgment with the ability to select key video and soundbites to ensure highly-produced segments.
Must be able to make sure copy is factual and meets CNN standards.
Must also be the liaison between the show and all of CNN digital platforms.
Must have the ability to write scripts on tight deadlines.
This producer will be expected to do through research, identifying compelling guests, and understanding the legal aspects of copyright.
This position requires someone with significant experience in the control room who can set up live shots, write copy, copy edit.
Your Qualifications & Experience…
5+ years producing experience.
Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field of study is preferred, or equivalent experience.
Control room experience is necessary.
Requires a creative thinker with the ability to find new and entertaining ways to present information, new angles to approach stories, and the organization skills to bring it all together.
Outstanding news judgment, critical and strategic thinking, and an ability to be persistent yet diplomatic are critical for the position.
Must be able to work an extended schedule as the news cycle and deadlines require.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $77,841.00 - $144,563.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
