Senior Communications Manager

at Lactalis American Group — Chicago, IL We are seeking a Senior Manager, U.S. Communications to design and implement Lactalis USA’s internal and external communications strategy. This role reports to the Director, U.S. Communications, and manages two team members, serving as a strategic partner to stakeholders across the U.S. business. Develop and execute U.S. communication strategies to guide employee expectations and behaviors for Lactalis USA, its divisions, and shared services; manage corporate reputation with external audiences in line with Lactalis Group and Lactalis USA goals. Lead internal messaging to employees and build relationships with company leadership (HR, Sales, R&D, and other functions); manage external media relations and platforms; coordinate with internal shared services and U.S. divisions. Partner with the Director, U.S. Communications on the vision for the department; collaborate with Group Communications and Lactalis affiliates outside the U.S. Oversee content development for news releases, reports, newsletters, social media, and other channels; manage the USA editorial calendar; ensure timely, accurate, on-budget delivery; translate content as needed. Lead executive communications for key meetings/events; support the USA CEO and other executive leaders with internal communications initiatives. Drive employee engagement initiatives, including the company’s partnership with Feeding America; promote participation internally and externally. Develop and refine messaging with functional leaders and executives; ensure alignment and efficient distribution across the organization; maintain high standards of clarity and accuracy. Manage stakeholder messaging in coordination with the Communications team to position the company positively with all stakeholders. Foster collaboration within the team and across the organization; coach and develop team members; provide constructive feedback. Lead content management for USA communications and maintain the USA editorial calendar; ensure all communications are researched, written, proofread, designed, produced, translated as needed, and delivered on time and on budget. Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's degree in a related area of communications required. Experience with dairy, food & beverage, and/or CPG is a plus. Experience

10+ years of corporate communications or agency experience required. Certifications and knowledge

Experience with a broad mix of communication strategies and channels (intranet, digital signage, newsletters, videos) to deliver simple, compelling messages quickly to all levels of employees. Expert-level written and verbal communication and message development skills. Strategic orientation with ability to define and guide communication strategy. Strong critical thinking, business acumen, and analytical skills to measure effectiveness. Demonstrated project management experience and ability to work with senior leaders across functions. Commitment to ethical principles, diversity, and fair workplace practices; experience working with media is a plus.
