Overview

IMEG, one of the largest design consulting firms in the U.S., seeks a Senior Process Piping Designer in the Saline, MI office. The role involves leading design efforts as a project manager or lead designer for moderate to complex projects, working with engineers and consultants to deliver engineering solutions and advice to clients, and ensuring positive project outcomes. Principal Responsibilities Coordinate, oversee and manage projects ranging in size and complexity.

Assist Project Executives and Client Executives with design scopes of work and fee calculations for proposals, as well as contract reviews.

Create project schedules with milestones and deadlines.

Serve as the point of contact for teams and clients.

Prepare monthly billings and provide financial information to Accounting; update billing projections and estimated completion percentage for all projects monthly.

Ensure designs follow owner and IMEG standards and applicable codes; achieve milestones, complete quality control processes, and provide timely construction technical support.

Collaborate with design staff and coordinate project scheduling during all design and construction phases; schedule and lead progress meetings and document them.

Conduct construction site visits and provide documentation as needed.

Respond to and resolve client/construction concerns; manage change orders and obtain approvals.

Train, mentor, and motivate staff; build and develop client relationships.

Required Skills/Abilities Demonstrated leadership traits in the Project Management career path.

Adept in the technical aspects of the discipline; strong technical and analytical skills in thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics related to chemical process systems.

Proficient in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Plant 3D.

Ability to mentor, train, motivate, and lead others; perform final quality control in area of expertise.

Ability to sell work and develop client relationships; strong training and mentoring skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to communicate effectively in both oral and written form; able to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities; adaptability to new challenges.

Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Ability to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight stays.

Education and Experience Bachelor of Science (BS) in Chemical Engineering, or equivalent required.

7 years of experience minimum required (8 preferred) in engineering consulting or chemical process industry; experience with hazardous chemical codes and requirements preferred; project management and team leadership experience preferred; PHA and HAZOP review experience preferred.

OR Associate degree or certificate in Building Information Modeling (BIM) or Engineering preferred; 11 years of experience minimum required (12 preferred) in engineering consulting or chemical process industry; experience with hazardous chemical codes and requirements preferred; project management and team leadership experience preferred; PHA and HAZOP review experience preferred.
