Overview
The Planet Group is seeking a Product Designer for a 6-month hybrid contract role in Cupertino, CA. This role will focus on creating innovative, user-centered experiences across desktop, web, and iOS platforms. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of professional design experience, a strong portfolio of UX and visual design work, and the ability to translate complex concepts into intuitive and visually compelling solutions. Responsibilities
Conceptualize, design, and build user experiences for products, services, and digital platforms Research, design, and prototype new user experiences based on product requirements Create deliverables such as design mockups, prototypes, production assets, and documentation Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, product marketing, and senior leadership Present design ideas and solutions in team and stakeholder meetings Translate complex concepts into clean, user-friendly designs with strong attention to aesthetics and usability Stay up to date on new technologies and design trends across web, mobile, and interactive media Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Media Arts, or related field 5+ years of professional experience in UI/UX design across web, mobile-web, and iOS platforms Portfolio showcasing UX and visual design work for desktop and touch devices Expertise with Photoshop, Illustrator, Keynote, and other design tools Experience designing iOS app experiences from concept through delivery, with familiarity in iOS development Ability to prototype in HTML/CSS/JavaScript, AfterEffects, or similar tools Strong communication and collaboration skills, with ability to present design concepts clearly Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship Preferred Skills & Qualifications
Previous experience in e-commerce environments Icon design and 3D design experience Strong knowledge of design consistency, typography, and aesthetics Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, technical environments Location, Pay & Duration
Location: Cupertino, CA (Hybrid – onsite several days per week) Pay: ~$88/hr (W2, DOE) Duration: 6-month contract (40 hours/week; possible extension)
